Tasting Notes
This Grenache Noir rosé from Sugarloaf Mountain in Sonoma Valley is a true expression of its exceptional terroir. The vineyard benefits from intense daytime heat balanced by cold nights, creating a striking diurnal temperature shift that preserves freshness and enhances complexity.
The wine presents a pale pink hue, beautifully reminiscent of the finest Provençal rosés. It is bright and fruit-driven, showcasing classic Grenache rosé characteristics with vibrant aromas of wild strawberries, red currants, and watermelon, intertwined with delicate floral notes of rose petals and orange blossom. On the palate, it is crisp and refreshing, with a lively acidity and an impressively long, elegant finish.
Winemaking & Sustainability
Respect for nature is at the heart of our philosophy. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically, and we follow the lunar calendar to guide every stage of the winemaking process. We embrace a minimal intervention approach, allowing the wine to express itself naturally while preserving its authenticity and balance.
The wine is 40% aged in second-use French oak barrels, adding depth and complexity, while the remaining 60% is aged in stainless steel tanks, maintaining its freshness and vibrant fruit character. To further reduce our environmental footprint, we use an ultra-lightweight bottle, ensuring sustainability from vineyard to table. Every decision we make reflects our commitment to producing wines that are not only expressive and pure but also respectful of nature for future generations.
Wine Pairing
Enjoy this versatile rosé with Mediterranean dishes, such as grilled prawns with garlic and herbs, a Niçoise salad, or a tomato and burrata tartine. It also complements Asian cuisine, like tuna tataki, and is a delightful match for soft goat cheese or a light berry dessert.
